In the wrong place at the wrong time

You shift to your side slowly careful not to jar your shoulder unnecessarily. You can't help but to bite back yelps of pain anyways. You aren't sure if you dislocated your shoulder or completely broke the bone all the way up there. You happen to glance at your fingers. You haven't really felt your hand in a while, and you don't really like how lifeless your hand and fingers look.

All right then...

As her fingers press gently against your arm your eyes go a bit wide with pain and stiffen up. Yep not nerve dead yet.

His reactions to your prodding tell you enough. You stand, quietly going over to your first aid kit. Morphine... morphine... you knew you had a bottle of it somewhere in the massive red box. You'd used it a few times when your dragons broke or dislocated something. Your hands shake when you finally find it, and you take a long, deep breath before filling the syringe with the clear liquid. You return to Aarush, unsure how he is going to take having a stranger inject him with something and then wrench his arm back into place. You bite your tongue before speaking.

"I have to get your shoulder back in the joint, but I'm going to give you something to help with the pain." Before he can answer you quickly inject the painkiller into his arm, then set it down on the coffee table. You bend his elbow to a right angle, slowly rotating his shoulder until you hear a popping sound. You gently feel his shoulder, checking its back in place.

You groan a little after she stops prodding. Shit you hate braking or dislocating things, it hurt. As it was all the pain you were feeling was making you feel a bit ill.

Best news all day...

Your voice is little better then a croak. Really, you should be better with pain then this. Cuts were one thing, you think you'd prefer to be stabbed then have a bone broken. It was rare for you to even brake a bone considering how tough your bones were. It might be a slight mutation considering how difficult it was to brake them.

You hardly notice the prick but you wish she had waited a bit longer before gripping you by the arm and rotating it.

OH MOTHERFUCK! SHIT!

When it finally pops into place, you really want something to drink other then water.

I don't suppose... you have any soporifics....

A horrid idea for your fever, a better one for your nerves.

You topple back, but you were only on your knees so its more of a plop than a topple. "S-sorry," you manage. You weren't really expecting him to shout, but you really did not blame him. You would scream if you were in his place. You get his arm strapped into the sling, after all sometimes joints can pop back out while a dislocation heals.

Soporifics... Oh you remember what that is. "Sorry, I don't. I accidentally swallowed some sopor when I was younger and I've not been keen to eating or drinking anything with sopor in it ever since." Ok it wasn't an accident, you'd been too curious for your own good and had swallowed a spoonful of the stuff. The following twelve hours you had been somewhere between drunk and high, and the following night your lusus grounded you for a month. "Give it a little bit longer and the medicines should kick in a bit more..." You stand, picking up the now empty syringe and tossing it in the trash, then packing up the first aid kit and putting it away. You needed a nap.

Sorry about shouten..

You say as she moves your arm back into the sling. It's still sore enough to make you wince but the feeling of stabbing pain was mostly gone. Maybe that was thanks to the painkillers.

Here's a doctory trick... Don't have any painkillers or antiseptic or anything to knock a troll out? Give them a couple shots of a high level soporific. They'll be out on their ass before you are done and pouring it on a wound cleans it as good as the high tech stuff.

You start to settle back down on the couch holding your shoulder some as you look up at her. A lazy smile is working it's way across your face. Maybe the painmeds are kicking in. They might use some sopor in those in the way your head was slowly spinning. You chuckle to your self softly. You really couldn't have your ass saved by a prettier troll... boy were you lucky!

"I will have to keep that in mind, however if my Lusus catches me with anything soporific related, be it for medical use or not, she'd keep me in my hive for the rest of my life." You smiled politely and returned to finishing your food. Other than your experiment with the sopor slime, you had never touched soporifics or any kind of liquor. Of course you had read about it in one of your many romance novels, and you'd thought about drinking but getting drunk alone seemed rather sad.

Oh sweet troll wriggling jegus, was he smiling at you? You tell yourself it was just the pain medication kicking in, but you couldn't help but blush a little. You remembered the previous day when he had held your hand in his fever stricken state, but that was only because he thought you were someone else. You needed to calm down because you were not a character in one of your books and things like this didn't happen to you.

Quickly, you grab your now empty bowl and his unfinished food and hurry to the kitchen. You stick his food in the microwave, you'd heat it up once he felt well enough to eat, and busied yourself with washing the dishes. He did have quite a handsome smile... You nearly drop the bowl you were holding at that thought. Dear glob get a hold of yourself!

You slowly relax back. It is still a bit hard for you to get comfortable, but the lightness that was growing in your head didn't mind it. You roll over until you are on your belly and grab a cushion and stick it under your head. That smile had yet to get off your face. Oh things could have gone a lot, a lot worse. You could be dead. You could have been eaten by that creature. You could have culled her.

Okay that last thought was not something you wanted to think about. Like an annoyed wriggler you let out a huffing growl at your self and stick your head under the cushions. Nope. No more thinking. Sleep. Sleep was better.

Once the dishes were cleaned and the kitchen showed no signs that a meal had been made, you yawn, reaching your fingertips towards the ceiling as you stretched your back. Sleeping sitting up and then sleeping on the floor the previous day had made you stiff. Rubbing your eyes, you return to the sofa to find Aarush asleep. You considered settling down in your coon upstairs, but if his fever spiked suddenly you wouldn't hear. Instead, you elect to selecting a book from the stack beside the television and then you curl up on the armchair underneath your favorite blanket. You've barely made it ten pages before you are asleep, book still in hand with your thumb marking your place.

You growl softly in your sleep. You were in a daymare, but it was one you knew quite well. You were trapped behind bars as a much older troll with black skin would have just thrown you in there. You were powerless against him. Your fever was spiking but he didn't care, you needed to overcome these weaknesses that your body places on yourself, and if you were not going to do it. He was.

The growls stop and he opens his eyes. It was your face but his eyes. The right one would be as normal with the purple iris and black pupal but the left one would have gone a bright almost glowing green surrounded by black. Your tattoos along your right arm also seemed to glow with the power he gave off. He would sit up straight and place his arm along the back of the couch, letting out a sigh.

It had been a while since Aarush had placed himself in such a state that you could take control again. Your name is Alcide Dasura. You are the Clown Prince. You are Awake now, and quite curious as to what would make your decedent so stupidly risk his life as he had.

Aarush's growling in his sleep did little to wake you. You were already quite a heavy sleeper and you were rather exhausted. You rolled over in your sleep, accidentally dropping your book in the process. The blanket was tangled around your waist and legs, you tended to move around a lot in your sleep. You would fall asleep in a perfect little ball and wake with your hair in mats and sprawled out in your coon. You yawned, still fast asleep, completely unaware that you were quite possibly in mortal danger again. You were dreaming quite peacefully, despite not sleeping in the sopor, with a tranquil look on your face.

Your eyes move to the source of the sound. There was a young sea dweller in this hive with you. Most likely the reason Aarush risked his life, and probably the reason he is still alive as well. You stand up slowly. One thing about living you have not missed, the broken bones and painful injuries. You take  close look at the seadweller. She reminded you of someone. No she could not be alive.  You had left before she had died, you promised her you would return with the secret of immortality for her as well...

Alynea...

You speak her name quietly, almost reverently.

You are too deeply asleep to realize whats happening. You dream of your days as a wriggler, swimming along the ocean floor and trying to catch fish with your bare hands while your lusus watched over you. Lying on the sand while watching the massive ships sail above you, completely unaware of your existence. Trying to beg your lusus to let you stay up just a little bit later, all fond memories. You murmur in your sleep, a sound between a purr and a chirp, then wriggle in the armchair, trying to get comfortable. You end up with one of your legs hooked over the back of the chair and your head mostly hanging off the seat.

They were practically the same. It had been so long since you had seen her. You bend over slightly, taking a finger under her chin you kiss her like you had so many sweeps ago.

Time to wake up my Queen...

The Empress might rule Alternia, she might hold absolute power over your head. But there was only one person who could ever command you fully. You would have culled the Empress herself at her command. She had been your only weakness the only one you had ever allowed yourself and here she was again, looking so young. You kiss her again, unable to help yourself.

You wake immediately, completely in shock. You push (who you think) is Aarush away with both hands, quickly tumbling off the armchair and smacking the ground. But you were up in a second, your face bright pink, and taking several steps back. "Aarush what the fuck are you doing! Sweet wriggling troll jegus if your shoulder wasn't already fucked up I'd fuck it up for you!" You were spitting fire, feeling vulnerable and very embarrassed. You couldn't believe this, had this all been some elaborate ruse to mack on you?! You were bristling now, but then you freeze. Something was wrong, his eyes seemed... different. Well for starters one was green. And glowing. Along with his arm that was glowing too.

You are not...

One of her decedents? A low growl rumbles in the back of your throat. So you didn't succeed. She was ether dead or elsewhere now. You could feel your anger bristling, the spirits of those culled and drowned ancwer to your anger come to you, cloaking you in shadow like a cape. This wriggler also saw your face! You quickly turn from her and place your mask on. The lights would be dimmed but still shone out eerily.

Aarush... You speak of my pathetic descendent.

It did not matter if this child was a caste higher then you. They were still a child. You sat again on the couch. How stupid of your descendent to be without his knives or weapons within reach in a trolls hive that he barely knew... and how stupid of you to assume that this whelp was. You focus your eyes on this girl, the spirits would dance around around her, tearing at her clothes pulling at her hair.

You... are in my presence child. I am the Clown Prince, show respect.

Ok you were pretty damn scared. In an instant, you had activated your strife specibus, your ancestor's crossbow appearing in your hands. It was formed of the lightest and most rarest of metals, with your sign carved into the sides. The back end of the bow was strapped to your wrist and arm, your finger perfectly slipping into the trigger. Ok Eisire it's time to be brave. Just ignore the mask and whatever the hell is pulling at your clothes and hair.

This was not Aarush, whether or not this was actually his ancestor you were wary about. But you had a split personality, you could feel her moving around in the back of your mind, itching to break free. You knew that for the time being, Aarush was gone. You also knew that whatever injuries the 'Clown Prince' sustained during this time, Aarush would have to deal with.

You narrow your eyes, letting fire fill you. You were your ancestors descendant, hatched with all of her fire and intelligence. You fire two bolts, one landing on either side of his neck. Your aim is perfect, you didn't nick him but you came pretty damn close. "And you are in the presence of a seadweller so you should so some fuckin' respect. Bring Aarush back." You place two fingers in your mouth, creating a 'V' with them and whistling. Two seconds later, you hear your dragons bursting from their underwater caves.

You look at her, even from behind a mask you look unamused. You take both the bolts from the side of your neck. One went threw the air to close the airlock that separated the dry part of the hive from the underwater caves. The second would lodge itself in the trigger of the crossbow.

Do not tempt me child... You only live now because you share HER blood.

You move your injured shoulder stiffly. Bah, you would have knocked that crossbow right out of her hands if you could use your dominate arm. You settle back down against the couch. You recognize it, she used to use it to threaten you also, although that often ended in a much different activity. You tilt her head as you look her over, was this how she looked when she was younger?

Does she still live?

The spirits would leave Eisire alone, returning to his cloak of shadows.

You panic again, trying to wrench the bolt from the trigger. Yes, you had used your crossbow against others and had used the bolts as weapons, but you had never had your weapon used against you. Your hair is getting in your face, but your hand not holding/strapped to the crossbow was busy trying to un-jam it so you couldn't brush it back. Then again, your hair acted as a veil to hide your terror from whatever was controlling Aarush. You were starting to believe that this was his ancestor, especially since he seemed to know your ancestor. Now that you think about it, you remember reading in the sole personal journal your ancestor, the Designer, had left you about a juggalo. She had regarded him fondly, a few times calling him 'my dearest.'

You can hear your dragons, the three largest that were trained to respond to your call, circling your hive, growling. His question startles you. "Y-yes, I uh I think so." At least the journal had indicated as much, the last entry said that she was to leave Alternia for good to be the Empress's closest adviser.

You let out a sigh of a breath you did not know you were holding. She still lived. There was still time. You will have to move things along faster now. You had left her so long ago when you had noticed yourself starting to age, you never wish to become one of those spirits that were at the beck and call of those lower then you. And to you all creatures save for Her were pawn trash. She was your Queen.

I have much work to do still...

You look back at Eisire. So unsure of herself, trying to fit in shoes much larger then her own at the beck and call of one who was barely fit to give you orders.

You have fire... Young Aquina... Don't let the Bitch Fish steal it from you.

You chuckle to yourself before resting your head back against the couch. It was time to put the plan into motion. You were running out of time, and so was she. You would fall asleep there, Aarush's body was exhausted so it was not hard to, and woke up elsewhere. In the tallest of towers in a purple land.

You were shaking. Ok one thing at a time. You whistled in a low tone, signalling for your dragons that you no longer needed them. They returned to the sea, swimming deep down to their caves. You put your crossbow back into the strife specibus, the bolt now dislodged. You took several deep breaths, you were still alive. And you now knew how other trolls felt when Erisie broke free. At least the ones who survived. There was another thing you knew- Aarush's ancestor would not kill you because of his relationship (the nature of which you did not know) to your ancestor.

Once calmer, you hurried to Aarush's side, kneeling beside him. You shook him, trying to wake him. "Aarush, Aarush wake up!"

You are burning to the touch, much worse then before. You open your eyes groggily, why was your mask on? It was making it hard to breathe. You grab at it with your hand a few times before finally managing to get it off. You look like hell, the eye that had gone green was leaking blood tears and your nose was bleeding like crazy.

You... not hurt...

It was all you could manage you grip her arm tightly with one hand, just glad there was not another corpse around you. Your skin was pale and you could not help the tremor that was in your limbs. But all you could think about was her. She was not hurt. She was not hurt. You did not kill her. She looked scared. It was hard to keep a straight thought in your head. Your eyes blinked slowly, that one eye becoming more irritated as blood got in it.

You grab the tissue box, you were already worried when you felt his fever had spiked, but his nose and eye was bleeding. "I'm fine just try to stay still ok?" Your voice still shook. You dabbed at his eye gently with a tissue, wiping away the blood. Yes, the Prince had freaked you out, I mean he had kissed you while you slept and then set spirits on you. Your shirt was torn, there was no way you'd be able to stitch it back together without it looking weird. But you knew how it felt to have no control over yourself.

But really waking up to someone kissing you had rattled you. I mean you were already trying to deny to yourself that you had flushed feelings for Aarush, and that kiss had really made your head spin. Even though it wasn't Aarush who had kissed you.

You try to push her away. No you were too dangerous, you couldn't be around her. You might hurt her and not know it. You have about as much strength as a newly hatched grub. You have no choice but to stay still as she tends to you. You try to take slow breaths. Your head is spinning there's a strange taste on your lips, lipstick?

Your hand slowly falls off Eisire's arm. Your eyes are closing again, you feel something different in the back of your head like you are more of yourself and less of 'something else' but at the same time it's an unsettling feeling like something horrible was going to happen. Your strength was being leached away. Her face looked so worried. Your eyes close you can't stay awake any more. You are so tired.

Something is wrong, you don't know what and you aren't sure if Aarush should be sleep. "Aarush no you have got to stay awake! Come on stay with me!" You shook him, extremely worried. You couldn't believe how concerned you were over someone you barely knew. He tried to cull you, you have to keep reminding yourself. But you were horribly concerned, his fever only seemed to be getting worse and you didn't know what to do.

You jump up, hurry to the kitchen and fill a bowl with cool water, grabbing a towel as well. That's all you could really do, keep a cool cloth on his forehead in an attempt to lessen the fever and wait.

You groan as you try to stay awake. The cool water helps. Your head feels light and dizzy. You need something to wake yourself up more. Sleeping now would not be good, but you really want to. You try to stand up to get to your feet, you stumble a few times. You have to get away from her, you might hurt her like you had did someone else. You try to stagger to the door before it hits you like a punch to the gut.

You choke out sobs as your memories come crashing back to you like tidal waves. You collapse under their weight. You had culled them, each of them in cold blood. But it was like you had been staring out from a looking glass, powerless. The way you had killed first your kissamiss, then your morail... finally... You brake down. You can't handle this right now. You don't know who to blame other then your self. Something has been very wrong with you, and you knew it. You knew it, you always had.
