Your name is AMTHEA FAUNUS, and you really should talk to someone about the daymares you keep having. Should doesn't necessarily mean you will of course. You're pretty sure you WANT TO KEEP YOUR PAST A SECRET from most other trolls; and with good reason too. You LEFT THE DARK CARNIVAL about a sweep ago and personally you would rather not be BLUDGEONED TO DEATH by those FACEPAINTED FUCKS. Once upon a time you were really into STUDYING THE CAUSES OF POWERS AND DIFFERENCES IN THE HEMOSPECTRUM, but that changed when you had your ACCIDENT and began SIBILATOR TRAINING. You're slowly getting back into it; wherein you occasionally jot something down in one of your NUMEROUS NOTEBOOKS because your OLD METHODS won't work with your new 'no killing anyone without a reason' policy. One day you’ll compile all the information you have on your computer - maybe you’ll find something interesting. You are smart enough to know to KEEP YOUR FRIENDS CLOSE, BUT YOUR ENEMIES CLOSER. So you keep in contact with them using a chat program called TROLLIAN. Your first encounters with other trolls on there were a little ODD. A lot of the trolls were determined to be your BEST FRIEND, and since you consider friends a WEAKNESS TO BE PURGED you were completely and utterly RUTHLESS IN YOUR CRUELTY TO THEM. In fact you don’t really have many…acquaintances as it is. It’s hard to find someone who is smart enough to hold a conversation with you, and isn’t too optimistic that you want to STAB THEM REPEATEDLY. Personality: Amthea can be rather short with those she is not familiar with, to a point of being rude. She is known to offend without thinking due to being rather sheltered for the first seven sweeps of her life. Once she gets to know you, if you have gotten on her good side at any rate, she is much kinder. Of course she isn’t completely kind.
She occasionally lacks tact and will say things that will hurt or offend her friends, but she learns from her mistakes. Once you have her as a friend it’s hard to lose her, she holds her friends very close to her heart.
She doesn’t like wearing her heart on her sleeve, and hates when people notice she’s even slightly upset. She withdraws into herself, not wanting to have others worry about her.

YOUR TROLL'S STORY
Up until her seventh sweep, Amthea Faunus was kept under proverbial lock and key, forbidden to leave the hive she resided in at the time by her lusus; a rather sizable wolf who would sleep near the front and only entrance to the hive to prevent her leaving.
This meant that she would spend a lot of time in her respiteblock in an attempt to avoid crossing him – as such she developed an interest in science, gathered from the books that were delivered to her hive periodically by an unknown sender. Her interest developed into a hunger, one that would not be sated for a long time.
In her sixth sweep she started spending time observing the other young trolls playing in their nearby lawnrings as part of the communal hive sect. She would watch them play, and while she grew jealous of this fact, she knew that one night she'd be able to join them. As she watched she observed a lone yellowblood, a little older than the others, who would come to play each night but get teased or mocked by the young purplebloods. Over time they grew to welcome the yellowblood, and he would join in their games.
After a while he noticed the purpleblood in her respiteblock, often watching them, and sometimes sitting on the sill reading. He would motion for her to join them, but she was still restricted, and thus could not.
And then the night came; the one where her lusus was just far enough away from the door for her to sneak past, for her to slide against the wall and through the door before he knew what was happening, and she was free, free to do whatever she want. And so she joined them. She played hard and laughed and was a true child for that time, just enjoying her time in the starlight. And when the sun started to rise the yellowblood invited her over for the day...and not wanting to go hive she accepted.
Unfortunately for her, that yellowblood had some of the same interests as her, and by the time she managed to get him away she was hurt, badly. She retaliated, grabbing his arm and unleashing her chucklevoodoos for the first time, sending a great wave of energy through his mind, almost killing him.
Then she ran home, vowing to trust in her lusus' instincts from then on. But it was only too soon when the yellowblood returned, wanting vengeance. He used his own psionics to tear her hive around her and in the end...killed her. She was revived shortly after by another troll who had been passing by, and having died, having seen the truth of all things, if but for a moment, she was left with one eye white as snow, and all but useless.
Shortly after she was recruited to The Dark Carnival, and taken in to one of the many sects within to be trained as a Sibilator. In her training she learned to use her abilities for the most effective methods of torture and to kill. She was also allowed to finally excel in her studies, she created a lab for herself, and picking only the finest specimens from the captured blasphemers she began her first true leap into science.
Her work, and the method of disposal of her specimens earned her a title among the carnival, whispers were heard of her works, she had become something of a bogeyman to them – The Lacerator. And that was something she relished, for a time.
It was in her ninth sweep when she met her first real friend; Aneris. While she had random acquaintances, Aneris was the only one who had stepped out of his comfort zone to actually pay attention to her, and while she did not disclose any information of her studies to him, he became a close friend to her.
So naturally, when she obtained copies of a strange new game from the same unknown sender of her wrigglerhood she invited him, and several of her other acquaintances to join her. Of course she did not know what this game would do to all of them.
This could be called both the best and worst time in her life. For three sweeps she and her friends, as they became during their time together, fought against strange creatures after the destruction of their home, reached heights they didn't think were possible, and grew as only trolls could.
Factions were formed amongst them, fights were had, and there were deaths; their time player lost his life protecting their space player as she created their final frog, dying a truly just and honorable death. And in the end all but he stood against their final boss, their Black King.
That fight was something they could have never been prepared for. Augmented beyond belief with the abilities of their own lusii and things thought inconsequential they soon learned that it was harder than they thought, Regina, their light player fought alongside Amthea; Light and Hope creating something that even he could not counter easily, but eventually one step out of place and Regina too lost her life.
And Amthea took her revenge. She truly accepted her abilities as a Thief of Hope, drained the Black King of his own belief in success, tore the glimmer of light from his eyes, and then destroyed him.
Their game was won, with only two casualties, and with their Genesis Frog they were able to recreate their home.
It was hard to get back into normal life after that. Amthea fell back into her studies, and in the end had to erase Aneris' memory, not once...not twice, but three times, to prevent him from remembering what he had discovered about him, afraid that he would not want to be her friend anymore. They became matesprits after a time, and she thought she could be happy without her studies.
But something always called her back. Friends needed medical help, others had scientific questions needed answering or valued her work, and she always fell back into it. In the end a young troll, a ward of Alternia was left in her care, and that was the final tipping point. The boy showed a natural aptitude, and she took him on as an apprentice.
After a time she left him to his own devices while she went to spend time with her matesprit, who unfortunately was nearing the end of his life. She stayed with him in his final perigees, and in the end gave him a true Alternian burial. She then left, not content with returning hive, even with Corvus waiting, and traveled through to Eastern Alternia, studying their scientific techniques and breakthroughs in the medical field, and there she remains to this night. Who knows if she will return hive any time soon when she seems so content where she is, in this new place where nobody knows her, where the name of The Lacerator could be born anew.
ANYTHING ELSE
Powers/Abilities: Amthea’s chucklevoodoos are largely based in control over the brain. So she can give them the compulsion to want to answer her questions, she can stimulate or numb the pain centers, remove, add, play with memories and things like that. But she can only do it if she’s touching the person skin to skin, so it’s a bit restricted by time and the ability to get close to people.

In the following piece of writing I will go over information I have compiled on her, in hopes of shedding some light on the character I have created. Hopefully you will gain some insight into her life and personality, and it is more than likely that I will do the same.

INTRODUCTIONWhen I started with Amthea she was a sullen indigoblood who left the Dark Carnival for undisclosed reasons, who had been confined to her hive by her lusus, and who had started playing a game that we are all familiar with, dragging her friends Aneris and Regina, her not-so-friend Azikat, Azikat’s friend Ravera and Regina’s moirail Nakatu into it with her.She was an absolute bitch, not even kind to those who she called friend; she was coerced into friendships which eventually became true. She pushed past her initial distaste for other trolls and grew to understand them for who they were, to trust them, and to develop relationships with them.She had a mild interest in violence caused by blood color, but hadn’t studied that extensively, she was more than happy to stick to herself, still had quite an attitude, gained a kismesis and a moirail, and became god tier, obtaining the title of Thief of Hope.Shortly after all this I took an unpredicted, but much needed hiatus, and the band fell apart. The session remained unfinished in RP, and we’ve had to piece together plot points, saying the session ended completed, successful, with them managing to gain back their own universe.In the time since I have come back she has changed quite a bit, developing into a much more believable character overall. I have fleshed out her backstory, developed her personality, and in the end she has become my most developed character I have ever roleplayed with.So without further ado, let me introduce you to Amthea Faunus properly.Note: Anything that has been italicized has hover information or notes.02. PERSONALITY AND HISTORYAs a rule Amthea Faunus is sullen, rude, and has a penchant for cruelty. Of course she is not always like this, having taken on a more positive role in hopes that it can make up for her past mistakes and keep her where she is: happily in a matespritship with the troll that convinced her she could be better than who she had been.Before everything happened she had been kept in her hive by her troll, only occasionally sneaking out, and getting into a bit of trouble due to her attitude. She had developed a crush on a yellowblood, who ended up taking her feelings for granted, and she was genuinely displeased with this as a result.She got revenge in the form of destroying everything he cared about, capturing him, and torturing him. He managed to free himself, and paid her back in kind. This lead to her first almost-death.I say almost death, in that she did die, she did stop breathing, and ceased to live, but somehow returned. I am as of yet undecided on how this transpired; whether she was still on the precipice of life, or whether she was sent back through some divine intervention I cannot decide, but nevertheless she returned to the world of the living, and left the lawn-ring she had spent the first seven sweeps of her life in with her lusus to join The Dark Carnival, where she believed she belonged.She was an acrobat when it came to performance purposes; lithe in movement, and quick on her feet, she made a very good act for herself, though she cannot count herself among the best. She performed her services to the carnival adequately, and subsequently no questions were asked when she often declined opportunities to participate in other events.And thus began her studies in genetics.After a while she was noticed by a group that operated within the carnival, The Sibilators. This was a sect that were as active as The Subjuggulators, and were in fact tied intimately to them as a rule.She was recruited to join them and began her training, studies forgotten for the time being she learned to hone her abilities, her own strain of the chucklevoodoos.She spent a sweep working with them before she met Aneris Eupter, who contacted her over Trollian one evening. His tenacity and genuine interest in talking to her changed her opinion of lowbloods, made her realize that all that she had been taught is not necessarily true. As a result she left The Dark Carnival, and has since been fighting to keep a few steps ahead of them. Occasionally she will have nights where she believes they have found her, but this never been proven true.After she left she received a package which contained a copy of SGRUB and a note that simply said ‘Enjoy.’ She found instructions on sending electronic copies of the discs to others, and thus introduced Azikat, Regina and Aneris to the game. Azikat brought in her friend Ravera, and Regina brought in her moirail Nakatu.With the session complete, universe regained, and sans a few friends, she and the remaining members of the session separated once more, going back to what lives they had before. They have all, and still are to some degree, dealt with the events of their session in their own ways. Amthea is still haunted by the things she did, and has as a result sequestered herself in her hive working on her studies with religious vigor.Her relationship with Azikat, her kismesis, crumbled. Amthea ended it, much to Azikat’s chagrin, and as a result the other troll had come to the belief that Amthea took everything from her and has since begun to be re-plagued with nightmares she again blames on Amthea.Her benefactor has come back into her life. He scares her more than she has ever been scared and he hasn’t even threatened her. He has spoken to her friends, found out about the past she has kept hidden and erased from memories too many times to count, and she is terrified of what may come to transpire, yet she is drawn to him, as interested in him as he is in her.But you know, she won’t admit that easily.Now, onto the next section:———03. HER STUDIES IN GENETICS, AND WHY SHE IS ‘THE LACERATOR’Now, I’ve had a lot of time to determine what her studies were. They’ve evolved from the initial curiosity in violence and mood aspects that she originally had to an intense interest in powers and abilities, in what causes them, how they originate and whether or not they can be turned off, or instilled into someone without them, like those in higher castes.The possibilities are endless when it comes to studies like this, and as a result she has yet to find the cause, or where they actually begin, which would aid her greatly.While in the carnival she would select test subjects from those hauled back from general raids, those who were blasphemous, who would be killed for their crimes, and perform her more in depth, invasive studies. For these she performed vivisections, examining internal organs in great detail, taking DNA samples, skin samples, and generally samples of all kinds while asking the still living subject everything she could before they died.She found it better to examine living subjects because they gleaned more information.What she neglected to study were: The brain and the way it reacted when powers were activated [this will be one of her next endeavors] and the powers themselves when activated. She would generally just question them on their powers rather than getting an example of them, which has stunted her studies. No foresight at all, this girl.Over time she gained the nickname ‘The Lacerator’ due to the way she left them when they died. She’d take pleasure in the fact that she would return the subject back to their hive, her studies complete, for others to find. Rumors spread, whispers said, and she became an almost bogeyman to other trolls.Of course they did not know who she really was, which gave her freedom in her studies still. Her studies were only known to a few trolls whom she trusted, and when she left the carnival she removed their memories of the experiments, and ‘The Lacerator’ became little more than legend and stories to tell wrigglers before sleep.———04. SIBILATORSThe Sibilators are a shadow organization within The Dark Carnival; a specialized profession to which only a third of those introduced to the carnival are selected for.The purpose of the Sibilators is to keep a tight rein on the other inhabitants of the carnival to ensure that they don’t overstep any boundaries, that they operate within reason, and that their insanity doesn’t flow out into the rest of the community without a watchful eye.The word sibilate means: To utter or pronounce with a hissing sound. and that is precisely what they do; they hiss and whisper in the minds of those they are assigned to, keeping the insanity alive, coaxing them into completing their duties, preventing them from considering leaving.Unfortunately Sibilators are not assigned another to their own cases, and as such there is an easier chance of them leaving the carnival.———05. ABILITIESAmthea’s power is basically control over the brain. THE FANSESSIONThe fansession began one boring afternoon in December, not too long before Christmas, as a matter of fact. This was shortly after Amthea was originally created, and I had barely really begun to flesh her out as a character. A tumblr friend put up an open invitation to start a fansession and I jumped right in, dragging a friend who i occasionally rp'd a few canon characters with, and my bestest best friend Matt into the mixture. We ended up using multiple characters since it was unlikely that we’d get more members. Reeja and Raven brought in two characters apiece, and Matt and I brought in one each and we were off, beginning our first fansession.But sadly my unprecedented hiatus brought our RP to a shuddering halt, just shortly after Amthea obtained god-tier and all our characters managed to get together. And thus the rest of the session after that has become best left to speculation. Matt, Raven and I are currently in discussions over the events that could have transpired. We haven’t determined much, most of it is vague allusions to what could have happened, but it’s here anyway.—subsection a: the players involved and their roles;Ravera Tiique – Slyph of Space

- What She Did: Die by Amthea’s hand, accidentally. She got in the way during the fight with The Black King. The two of them were a perfect fighting team, unfortunately they lacked rhythm, which resulted in Regina’s death.
Nakatu Epromt – Knight of Time- Post-Game Location: None. Is Deceased.
- In-Game Duty: Assist in the creation of the genesis frog.
- What He Did: Die during the creation of the genesis frog, protecting Ravera.
Azikat Neovil – Seer of Doom- Post-Game Location: Unknown.

- What She Did: Team up with Aneris’ alternate personality, develop red feelings for said alternate personality.
Aneris Eupter – Heir of Heart- Post-Game Location: Back in his prior lawnring.
- In-Game Duty: None really, play the game. Win the game.
- What He Did: Spend a lot of time exploring his world when taken over by his alternate personality. Alt plotted with Azikat.
—subsection b: the thief of hope;Amthea obtained god-tier near the middle of our session that was able to be roleplayed, it was all very dramatic and lovely, and I had fun writing it. Obtaining her god-tier to her was more about beating Azikat than anything else, but to obtain it she had to learn a few valuable lessons, which took her a lot longer than it should have. She managed though, and rose to the title of Thief of Hope.A thief of hope will steal the hope, passion, the light from a foe. They will take away every desire to fight, to keep going, or to even defend themselves from attacks! They are adept at debilitating their foes, and while they focus in psychological debilitation, they can also weaken fighting abilities.Of course, this continues through to the thief as well, as any hope and motivation they steal will be applied to themselves. A thief of hope is often assigned to players who lack motivation, will or hope to go on, and thus they steal it from their foes and turn into strong willed, optimistic personalities.
Be careful, however, as a thief of hope in desperate need of, well, hope, may inadvertently take it from their allies, leaving their team is despair so they can find the will to continue fighting.
Ultimately, when played right, a thief of hope can leave enemies in states of weakness so severe they can become trivial to dispatch.
(Additional) - Stealing the hope aspect also grants an all-around power boost. It grants the thief with the motivation and desire to perform well, granting them short, temporary boosts in multiple fields of combat, until they need to steal more.
In fact, the thief’s allies are able to willingly submit their hope to the thief, and rest it on their shoulders. The more players who do this, the more powerful the thief can become, giving them the ability to overcome insurmountable tasks for a short while. Beware, though, giving your hope to somebody leaves you vulnerable, and if the thief fails, it can be devastating for the entire group.
Information on the thief of hope from hereHer abilities as the Thief of Hope were detrimental to their success against The Black King, sapping him of his drive to fight and making their attacks on him practically a murder against an unwilling competitor. She and Regina were the driving force behind their attack, and it was over almost before it began.Success.—subsection c: land of shards and spires;In retrospect, this one really doesn’t make sense. In fact, it’s not exactly tied to any particular reasoning like challenging Amthea or anything like that, though it certainly did.My entire basis for the name of the place was ‘Well, she likes pointy things!’But also, when I thought about it, if you got rid of the A for ‘and’ in the acronym, instead of LOSAS it would become LOSS.Now, Amthea by the point she had entered the medium had lost her Lusus, and her attitude was making it so that she was on the way to losing those who believed her to be their friend. Despite being aloof she really doesn’t handle being alone all that well, and losing those she has is something she really wouldn’t deal with well.So I guess, the pointy things had reason. Really, I just liked the idea of this big planet, and try to be imaginitive here as I describe it:Grass everywhere, like being out in the country, where everything is that distinct shade of beautiful green. Her hive appears on the edge of a cliff, at least seventy feet above the lower part of the world, grass is everywhere below, and everywhere around. On the lower portion of the world there is this long winding path, twisting around these huge buildings, spires. Each one could be entered and climbed to the top of, but they were everywhere.Now, in the grass there were shards of glass, every third blade of grass was actually glass, and so with the light of the sun bearing down on the world the whole place glittered magnificently. The glass was mostly blunt, so it did no damage walking on it, but there were larger shards which were dangerous.The inhabitants of the land were these kind of glass chameleons, except they could shapeshift rather than change color. They actually led her to her quest bed, and became the massive shard of glass that ended up killing her there.So I don’t know. That’s her land, no real reasoning behind the name, but it’s what it is.—subsection d: a basic understanding of what happened;This is the hard part to write, due to the lack of knowledge on what actually happened.I can do dot points on what I remember, it will be messy but I’ll try.- Amthea starts the session, forces the others into it with her. They set up their games, with Aneris not being around to start until later. He is her server player, but for some reason their chain is messed up in the way they’ve organised it.
The chain was as follows: Azikat <- Ravera <- Regina <- Nakatu -> Aneris -> AmtheaSomehow Nakatu was able to server for two players, and as a result their game developed a few glitches.- Amthea knocks the alchemiter into a stalactite and as a result it falls onto Azikat’s lusus, killing him.
- This results in contact lost from Azikat as she mourns. After a time Amthea is ordered to place the dead lusus within the available kernelsprite.
- Her actions end up leading to the other lusii subsequently dying through a series of accidents.
- Aneris is able to log on, and Amthea convinces him to play, he sets up the game before having to log off again.
- Azikat, Ravera and Regina all enter the medium, Nakatu naps, for whatever stupid reason, and while they are trying to wake him Aneris comes back, this time as his alternate self.
- Alt is enraged at Amthea, and in getting her into the game drops a piece of ceiling onto her lusus. He then informs her that she should throw him into the kernelsprite.
- Amthea enters the medium before Aneris does, creating another odd turnaround in their sequence.
- Aneris proceeds to prototype is lusus while it still lived.
- Aneris enters the medium.
- Everyone builds up, reaches first gates.
- Ravera is trapped in her hive, surrounded by imps, proceeds to play with the alchemiter.
- Azikat makes it to her second gate and helps Ravera before continuing back to her land to figure out her quest.
- Amthea makes her way to her second gate, injuring herself in the process and meets Aneris. She spends a large amount of time there with him.
- Aneris has a personality swap and scares Amthea, she is saved by owldadsprite. He then proceeds to go off on his grand adventure exploring his land.
- Nakatu has a mental breakdown, ends up killing Regina. He comes back to his senses enough to kiss her back to life. Amthea, who rushed through the gates to try to stop him beats some sense into him while he cries and apologises.
- Azikat reaches god-tier, begins conspiring with alt!Aneris.
- Amthea reaches god-tier, meets up with Azikat, they fight, end up kissing. Kismesis shenanigans.
- Everyone except Aneris end up at Ravera’s hive and help her fend off imps. They develop a game plan, with Nakatu staying with Ravera to work on getting the genesis frog while the others discover their purposes.
- Azikat sneaks away from the group to join alt!Aneris.
And that’s where we ended it. From there we can assume a few things.- The frog was obtained.
- The black king was defeated.
- Regina and Nakatu died.
But this is all speculation and assumption. We’re saying that these things happened for the sake of story.
